CONFIDENCE: How to be confident when competing. Last night I was at a “meat” market party. The room buzzed with attractive, affluent and alluring people. As I stood on the sidelines, I began to feel a bit insecure, unattractive and shy.
As the party buzzed around me, a man I knew spoke to me about me about how differently a man thinks from a woman. A woman is very insecure in that she has to look good. A man just puts on his clothes and goes.
Perhaps his words influenced me to realize my point of view, not the reality of the party, would create my experience. At this moment I decided to simply be at the party, but not judge it. As I retired to the side line for a moment to simply “people watch,” a funny thing happened. I began to feel so peaceful.
However, spirit in its alluring way tested me. As I relaxed into feeling more comfortable, a tall, statuesque blond came by and said hello. The man who I was casually chatting with at the time said, “Oh, she is so young and pretty. Wow! ”
Rather than get upset, I rather simply observed. “OK,” I thought, “She is considered attractive.” I did not care one way or the other. I simply thought this is a point of view, but not absolute.

So what is this phenomenon which frees us? How do we move from comparing to just being on a regular basis?
I suggest it comes from having a connection to our spiritual resources, our soul, our sense of the divine, through alignment with our gifts, intuition, authenticity and creativity.
One step to take to align with your own personal magnificence is to Let Go of trying to “fix” anything about yourself. It is in this Open state spirit can begin to lead and guide you.
