When my mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer at the ripe old age of 85, I decided it was time I explored the reality of the other side. Do we continue or don’t we?
I wanted to know for certain my mother would continue after taking that short walk into the grand abyss of spirit. Where would she go? Would I ever be able to speak to her again?
So I engaged in taking a number of mediumship classes. I already was a natural spirit channel, however, little did I know who or what I was channeling.
I was told my main guide was St. Ignatius Loyola, but I did not trust this message. Interestingly enough, I found out years later, St. Ignatius Loyola is the main entity John of God of Brazil channels! Wow!
Back then I was not convinced my channeling had put me in touch with anything resembling reality.
Now years later I realize how much I had shortchanged myself. At that time I didn’t trust what came through even though I had been doing mediumship. It had been so natural and easy for me, I did not think it could be real.
For example, when I was selling my condominium I asked spirit if they would supply me with a marketing plan. In came the spirit of a newly deceased real estate agent familiar with my area. I was thinking to myself, “This is very strange.”
This realtor advised me to ask for an “out of this world price.” She said not to worry about it because an investor would be visiting from New York as a cash buyer looking for property like mine.
I did not listen. It all seemed too outrageous and unbelievable to me so I rushed to sell my condo for the much lower “market price.”
Two months later I ran into a neighbor who owned a condominium down the hall from me. She sold her almost identical condominium to the New York investor for the exact exorbitant price the “spirit” had told me I could get!
Still choosing to believe my connections to spirit were value less , I went to study mediumship. I studied with one well known local medium and others. One teacher had studied at the well known school, Arthur Findlay College in England. Each teacher proceeded to confound, confuse and contradict what I naturally did.
I remained in this state of confusion for quite some time. I was convinced mediumship was very difficult and I was not a medium.

Finally after struggling through mediumship on my own, I watched psychic medium friend of mine (http://www.BrendaElizabeth.com) in action. She very naturally received information from the dearly departed, like she was channeling it.
It looked so effortless and natural, like what I had been doing naturally for over twenty five years, when I channeled my spiritual guides.
I had been going about mediumship all wrong. I had been trying to use techniques the teachers taught, but ignored my natural way to connect to spirit.
As soon as I started to connect to the other side as I did to channel, the situation corrected itself. All at once I was rocking with the other side. Speaking to spirit became very fluid for me.
The moral of this story is. Use your natural way of working.

This was reassuring. I honestly just found out such classes exist. This has been in the making since I was a kid, but religion became a wall that blocked me from realizing my abilities. It wasn’t until about 4 months ago that I fully awakened; I had an accident and was on bed rest for awhile. Anyway, though I can feel the presence of spirits, I haven’t really seen them or received any messages to relay. I’m currently in the process of establishing trust between me and my guides. I just started this process this week, and am already feeling the connection between me and spirit increasing. So, I’m just going to continue like so and let things naturally happen.
Hi, Wondering if you give distance training? I have been guided to do something outside of my comfort zone and have been told that I should pursue mediumship. I do exercises on a regular basis to enhance my psychic abilities, check in with my clairs and all of that but mediumship has been at the bottom of the list as I feel like I dont want to speak with dead people (not scared just not preferred). Also, when someone dies I am greatly affected. My empathy button needs some restraint training as well. Thanks for any feed back. Reiki Illuminations, Raz

I developed abilities very late and from doing radio channeling. When it happened I was very overwhelmed by it and didn’t know where to go or what to do. I took a course in CRV ( remote viewing) which in the intermediate level also covers some mediumship skills. The things I learned in those classes were very useful and applied to communication as well as psychic perception.
I’ve never done a circle. There are no other mediums around here… nearest is about 500km away.
Most of the time the most accurate perceptions and messages are very subtle and faint.
I always look for feedback and test what I am perceiving so I can improve.
I need help with my gift and training.

I have been communicating with spirit for clients its just kind of come about before this i was doing clairvoyance..I feel them hear them and see those passed over..yet I felt I needed to come to classes..it does make me wonder why I chose this..After seeing your clip makes me wonder that maybe I just have more faith in spirit..In some ways I would like support for what I do

I still have a ways to go. I’ve known about my experiences for many years with it starting at a young age around 7 or so. However, I was yet to become aware of it. At this point, all I have are the occasion vague visions that are difficult to even see let alone decipher and limited energy manipulation. I’m able to concentrate raw energy, or what feels like it, into any part of my body at will…though it seems strongest in my hands and it’s quite impractical for anything as far as I can tell. I can’t help but feel I’ve hit a wall. I try but I don’t know if what I’m improving
I was a member of a circle for three years. I meditated at least three times a week for well over a year. I’ve seen a medium’s angel around her whilst she was working live. Yet I struggle to connect in I to get a message. Another medium said to me well it’s meaningless unless you get a message “fair call”. Once I got a greeting in a song yet I’ve never managed to progress into tuning in and getting a valid message. I do wonder where I am going wrong. I do hear what you say that you can seek out wards but it’s really about tapping into your own source. finger’s crossed xo
Oh thank you Laura. This is exactly what I was looking for. Confirmation that was comes to us from spirit, clearly and naturally is how we are chosen to receive and use our gifts. I’ve been “searching” endlessly for a “class” that would teach me what spirit is trying to tell me. But I already know, always have. I just have to believe and have no doubts about what I’m experiencing. Most of all, I need to have faith in spirit, and have faith and belief in myself. Thank you Laura, thank you so much.
